YOGA INSTRUCTOR
JASON MCCREADY
Jason Mcready is a yoga instructor at the Red Lotus Studio, which is an extension of Foundation Fitness Gym in Arkadelphia.
With four years in the Marine Corps, and the physically demanding lifestyle of a bodybuilder, Jason knows all the ins and outs of fitness. With yoga he is able to maintain his solid physique and master a new discipline that presents unique challenges. He has been instructing yoga for 5 years and received certification upon completing 200 hours.
“I have loved working out since I was a kid. I feel very blessed to do this for a living. I love transforming everyone. They get their health back and feel better about themselves.”
Jason’s background in fitness is a highly active, 20 years of serious gym work, tough boot camps, and bodybuilding competitions. If curious about the nature of his yoga classes, he assures you that they’re difficult. “Always a challenge because if it doesn't challenge you it won’t change you.”
He encourages everyone to give yoga a try and not to be intimidated… he does look pretty intimidating. “I get results. I have the gift to push people and reach goals they didn't think were possible.”
Jason’s yoga classes are much more than downward dogs and warrior 1, though these are included in some classes. His yoga is traditional, but more than that, it’s challenging and he moves each week forward to a new challenging pose; you won’t find yourself working the same routine of 3 easy poses week to week.
There are multiple yoga classes available at Red Lotus and a few different yoga instructors who teach there. Jason teaches Hot Yoga, a yoga class for college students, and classes for beginners through advanced yogis.
All ages can be found at Red Lotus. Instructors present simple modifications for beginners and advanced modifications for those who are ready for a harder pose in each workout. The classes are interesting, dynamic, and as challenging as they are rejuvenating.
Jason’s top tips for living healthy are:
1 Drink plenty of water
2 Never go more than 2 days without physical activity
3 Limit processed foods and don’t over-eat
One of his go-to snacks that keep him on track is almonds and another way he likes to stay active is by hiking.
