PERSONAL TRAINER

DARRYL PARKER

Darryl Parker is a personal trainer working with clients at Foundation Fitness Gym.

Personal trainers devise workout plans tailored to their client’s goals and they educate their clients on proper technique for each exercise. Darryl is a senior Kinesiology major at Ouachita Baptist University. He has been certified as a personal trainer for the past four years and has been working as a personal trainer for 3 years now.

He works at Foundation Fitness training clients one-on-one and he works at the Boys and Girls club. When asked why he decided to become a personal trainer Darryl responded, “I believe exercise is the best medicine around. I truly enjoy watching people make a life change. People should bring me their children and give them the gift of physical health. I love working with kids!”

Darryl trains every age and every level from beginner or advanced but his passion lies in working with the youth. He works at the Boys and Girls club because he believes in making a positive impact in their lives. One way he can do so is through coaching them on a healthy lifestyle.

At the gym, you can expect a challenge in every workout he gives. “I like to always make things challenging because that's what the body responds to. Clients need to be willing to work hard.”

Aside from lifting at the gym on his free time, Darryl enjoys mountain biking and skateboarding to stay active. He calls himself an adrenaline junkie and when he has the opportunity he takes it outdoors. His top three tips to living healthy are:

1 Stay consistent. This is an every day thing.

2 Drink your water.

3 Get your rest. Sleep is important.

How does he like to snack healthy? Almonds and orange juice are a quick and effective energy boost that gets him through the day.

Darryl is available for personal training sessions at Foundation Fitness Gym weekdays 5-8am and 3:30-6pm.

SMITH

Hello, I am a senior dietetics major at OBU

I created this website for a mass communications class called online media. I decided to feature exercise and nutrition experts and leaders in our town to inspire OBU students to get involved and be more proactive about their health. I want to point students to fitness classes in town they may not have been aware of and to provide plenty of free easy to follow resources so they eat healthy at home, at the dorm, at a restaruant, or at the cafe. If your goal is maintain a healthy weight, lose weight, or gain muscle, you can find workouts here to help you acheive your goals. If you have any questions for me you can contact me below. You can also contact me at my personal website: click here
